Timmy Lee Short, age 63, of Celina, Tennessee, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Livingston, Tennessee. He was born on February 18, 1963, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by kindness, practicality, and a strong love for the people and places that mattered most to him.

 Timmy was a friendly, intelligent, and handy man who was known for the steady way he approached life and the willingness he showed to help others whenever he could. He worked as a handyman, and his ability to fix, build, and improve things was admired by many. Whether he was taking care of a project, lending a hand, or offering a thoughtful word, Timmy had a way of making those around him feel supported and appreciated. He was the kind of man people could count on, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors, where he found peace and happiness in the simple beauty of nature. Those who knew Timmy best will remember his appreciation for quiet moments, his easygoing spirit, and the satisfaction he found in life’s everyday blessings. His interests reflected the steady and sincere way he lived, and his memory will remain tied to the times he spent doing the things he loved. 

Timmy is survived by his son, Joey Short and his wife Breanna of Baxter, Tennessee; his step-son, Eric Dybsand and his wife Brooke of Celina, Tennessee; and his granddaughter, Audrey Dybsand of Celina, Tennessee. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobby Short of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, Rex Short of Celina, Tennessee, and Jimmy Short of Celina, Tennessee; and his sisters, Peggy Davidson of Celina, Tennessee, and Linda York of Moss, Tennessee. His family was an important part of his life, and he will be remembered with love by each of them. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Edward Short and Betty Lou Short, and by his brother, Johnny Short. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life, and they now welcome him into eternal rest. 

Timmy Lee Short will be remembered as a man of warmth, ability, and sincerity. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and a genuine spirit that touched the lives of those around him. Though his time on earth has come to a close, the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations be made to help with Memorial Expenses.

To honor his wishes, Timmy will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Noon in the Chapel of Clay County Funeral Home.
