Rodney D. Spears

The world has lost a true naturalist and loving father. Rodney D. Spears departed us on Saturday, October 25th in Nashville. Rodney was just short of celebrating his 72nd birthday; born on November 4, 1953. He passed away peacefully in the loving company of his children – Steven and Angela Spears. Rodney was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and foraging, and made the best tomato juice around.

Rodney was the son of Denzil and Mamie Dee Spears and is survived by his sister Kathy Goolsby and brother Doug Spears, in addition to his son Steven and daughter Angela.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, November 8th in Celina. Flowers, gestures for the Celebration of Life, or other family condolences can be sent to Clay County Funeral Home in Celina by Friday, November 7th.
