Roberto "Rico" Ruiz Recardo

Roberto Ruiz Recardo, affectionately known as Rico, passed away on December 6, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on December 8, 1947, in Manila, Philippines, he led a life filled with dedication, hard work, and love for his family. He was 77 years old at the time of his passing.

Rico had a remarkable career as a designer at Boeing, where he devoted 35 years of his life, contributing to the company with skill and creativity. His commitment to his profession was matched by his service to his country, as he proudly served in the Marine Corps for four years. During his military tenure, he earned several honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, a rifle marksman badge, and the Good Conduct Medal, reflecting his dedication and discipline.

On March 1, 2003, Rico married Linda Marie Tessier, and together they celebrated twenty-two wonderful years of marriage, filled with companionship and support. Rico's family was an essential part of his life, and he is survived by his loving spouse, Linda Recardo. His legacy continues through his children: daughters Tiffany (Shawn) Case of Puyallup, WA, and Brittany (Zach) Zirkle of Graham, WA; sons Christopher Speckhardt of Hilham, TN, Jordon Recardo of Hilham, TN, and Matthew Speckhardt of Whitleyville, TN. grandchildren Emma, Zayne, Bryna, and Blake.

Rico is also survived by his sister Elisa (Tom) Pulley of Parkland, WA, along with other family and friends who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Edwardo, Romeo, and Freddie.

A graveside service to honor Rico's life will be held on December 12, 2025, at McDonald Cemetery in Hilham, TN, beginning at 1:00 PM. Military Honors and Pastor Eric Copass will officiate. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life and memories of a man who touched the hearts of many.

In lieu of flowers, Rico's family is requesting donations be made in his honor to Celina First Baptist Church building fund.
