Patricia Gail (Hix) Fergason was born on October 11, 1946, in Lebanon, Tennessee, and she passed away on February 16, 2026, at Celina Health and Rehab in Celina, Tennessee at the age of 79. Patricia’s life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Tonya (Eddie) Cravens of Celina, TN; her son, Terry Gene Short of Nineveh, IN; her sister, Teresa Claridy of TN; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Talisha Short, Tyler (Cassandre) Short, and Alianna Short, all residing in Indiana. Patricia was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Bronson Bilbrey and Reina Short, who brought her immense joy and were among her proudest accomplishments.
Throughout her life, Patricia was known for her artistic spirit and a love for crafting. She found great delight in sewing, embroidering clothing, and other activities that spoke to her creative nature. Additionally, she had a passion for decorating and frequently rearranged furniture in her home to create new and inviting spaces.
A devoted member of the Church of Christ, Patricia's faith was an essential aspect of her being. Her love for her dog, Brandi, exemplified the kindness she extended to all creatures around her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Floyd C. Hix, her mother, Madge Estelle Cherry Hix, her brother, Eddie Hix, and her husbands, Jack Ray Short, David Leon Coleman, Jr., and Ed Fergason.
Visitation for Patricia Gail (Hix) Fergason will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M. at the Clay County Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
Patricia’s memory will live on through her family, friends, and the many lives she touched during her lifetime.
