Jewell Dean Shelley, lovingly known as Judy, passed away on August 31, 2026, at Overton Health and Rehab at the age of 83. She was born on May 4, 1943, in Burkesville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Willie Demon Grogan and Bessie Jewell Scott Grogan.
Judy was a woman of deep faith and was a member of Ashlock Church of Christ. She found joy in the simple and beautiful things of life. She loved gardening, planting flowers, and mowing, and she took special pride in keeping her yard beautiful; it was truly her baby. She also enjoyed singing and would go to different places to share that gift with others. Judy loved to travel, happily going anywhere and everywhere, and she especially treasured being around her family. She was also known for caring for others in a hands-on, tender way, always ready to help someone feel better and to look after those who needed her.
More than anything, Judy will be remembered for the love she gave to her family. She is survived by her son: Jimmy Thompson of Celina, TN; her daughter: Tina (Michael) Daniels Collins of Celina, TN; and her son-in-law Gary Green of Celina, TN. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Christopher Scott of Celina, TN, and Daniel (Brittany White) Boles of Celina, TN. Her legacy continues in her great-grandchildren: Christian Scott, Anaston Scott, Emberlynn Scott, Carson Boles, Connor Boles, and Cheyanne Boles, all of Celina, TN. She loved being surrounded by her family, and their lives stand as a lasting reflection of the care and devotion she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Jerry Thompson (Father of Sherry and Jimmy) and Wayne Shelley; her daughter: Sherry Green; her brothers: Paul Grogan and Jerry Grogan; and her sister: Alene Daniels.
