Elbert Lee Sherrell

Elbert Lee Sherrell was born on September 9, 1931, in Clay County, TN and he passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 93 at Oak Pointe Memory Care in Winder, GA.

Elbert was the son of Clifford Cordell Sherrell and Lucy Ira Sherrell. He was married to Annie Fay Thompson Sherrell, and he was also an U.S. Army Veteran that served time in Korea. He was a member of the Rock Springs Church of Christ, and he lived in the Pea Ridge Community.

He is preceded in death by his parents: wife; Anna Fay Sherrell; brothers: Edward Sherrell, Eddie Ray Sherrell, and Harlon Sherrell.

Survivors include his daughter, Vicki (Joe) Sewell of Hoschton, GA, Joann Hestand of Moss, TN; brother: Donald Sherrell of Celina, TN; grandchildren: Lee (Meg)Sewell, Brad Sewell, Nicholas (Amanda Holt) Hestand, Craig Hestand; great grandchildren: Magnolia Thomas Sewell. Other friends and family survive.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Also, visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of the service. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Clay County Funeral Home with Nathan Sherrell officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Williams Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
